Yesterday PlayStation Canada hosted there annual Video Game holiday event to showcase new and upcoming titles.
Diving in to the games as soon as we arrived I jumped right into the Navel battle demo of Assassins’ Creed III. While I didn’t get a solid view of the player movement that we have experienced in past AC games I did get to feel how the boat battles will progress. Needless to say Ubisoft got it right with the wide turns, the need to be aware of firing lines and the addition of multiple cannon ball types to make your time at see feel realistic.
Next up I showed off my lame fighting skills, along side @tehflakes, with a close battle between Injustice’s NightWing and Batman. Fantastic graphics and a button mashers dream… I’m kidding… or maybe not… I may not be great at fighting games but this is one I could see myself taking the time to play and really enjoy.
I typically enjoy gaming on a console more than a handheld platform but @tehflakes insisted I try Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified Multi-player on the PS Vita and it was very impressive. I’m glad he pushed me to play it. My beef is not with the game but more so with the Vita’s thumb-sticks and how they work with a fast moving shooter like COD – likely this is my issue having limited time playing the Vita. If you like portable gaming and the COD franchise I’d add this to your wishlist.
Other impressive titles where we didn’t get hands on time at the event include; Lego: Lord of the Rings, Sleeping Dogs, PlayStation Heroes, and Hitman Absolution.
PS3 and PSV owners have a lot of great games to look forward to this season.
