1.) Jon Favreau is coming at us once again with yet another comic to movie adaptation in the form of Cowboys & Aliens, a movie that crosses the classic Western with the alien-invasion movie in a blazingly original way. The first teaser trailer went live today.

Personally I’m not a fan of Westerns – In my mind the best western ever made was Young Guns 1 and 2 so that should tell you something but I’m willing to keep my mind open.

2.) In what will no doubt get fans all riled up, Warner Bros. is said to be getting closer to remaking The Wizard of Oz in a true to the original movies fashion. Rumor speculated that Robert Zemeckis was poised to helm but his publicist has insisted that he is in no way associated with the project.

Not a fan of The Wizard…Though I did like Todd MacFarlanes toy series loosely based on source material with a dark twist that only MacFarlane can come up with. Check out Dorothy in the pic below from MacFarlanes “Twisted Land of Oz” toy series…Think Judy Garland would approve?

3.) The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 1 reviews are pouring in and they’re very very positive. Apparently this is without a doubt the darkest in the series meaning – this isn’t your little sisters Harry Potter anymore. I still haven’t seen all of the last one but I do enjoy the series as I’m sure many of you do. Why not check out this review by Quint over at Ain’t it Cool News to whet your appetite but I must warn you that it may contain spoilers (though if you read the books, that won’t matter). I know this because he says so and then I stopped reading. But seriously this movie is going to punish the box office this week.

4.) Disney/Pixar gassed up the trailer for Cars 2 and unleashed it upon us today – I really disliked Cars and loathed Wall-e so I really can’t bring myself to care about this in the least bit but here you go.

5. The Red Riding Hood Trailer also launched today and I really wrestled with myself over posting this as a top 5 piece but it seems like it has the potential to be a mildly popular. I think – I can’t tell what this movie is striving to be. Is it a love story akin to that of Twilight? Is it a Horror movie? Does anyone care about this flick? At any rate, here’s the trailer.
