Zack Snyder, best known for his directorial efforts in the Dawn of the Dead remake, 300 and The Watchmen was officially announced to be taking the lead as the director of WBs newest Superman movie. Reportedly, he was originally offered the spot to do Superman Returns but declined the job – Damn….I wish I could be offered to work on something as epic as Superman and be able to turn it down. Rumor also says that the villian in the next movie is said to be non other than fellow Kryptonian General Zod, who was originally portrayed by Terrance Stamp (who now voices Jor-El in Smallville).

I really enjoy Snyders body of work and fully expect that he can take a character with so much rich history and make something special out of it.
