In the ongoing battle between New and Re-sale games EA has tossed a major wrench into the system, one big (pardon the pun) Game changer…

If you have yet to hear the latest from EA Sports, they’re about to introduce something new for the XBOX360 and PlayStation 3. They’re calling it the Online Pass, and it seems to be exactly what it sounds like. A redeemable code that will come in all unopened copies of EA Sports titles. When redeemed, it will give a single user access to what EA Sports calls, “online features and bonus content.”
Building on the idea of Mass Effect 2’s Cerberus network – only available to gamers that bought the game new or paid the DLC price to get access – EA will not lock down online play for many of there new titles going forward… Starting with Tiger Woods 11.
EA release this video to show you how it will work. New games come with DLC codes to be entered when activating multi-player or pay 800 MSP (Shown in video). For those of you that prefer to rent – you can get a 7 day trial activation, so you wont have to worry about being out of pocket the 800 MSP to try the MP gameplay.
