I know that EA Sports Active came out a short spell ago and I was due to put up my results and blog daily about my 30 day challenge but due to some other circumstances, i’ve been unable to deliver on that but now I bring you 2 different daily entries. 1 from myself and one from my wife who recently had a baby by way of C-section and as any woman whose had a child can attest, there’s always a little bit extra that’s tough to shed…Without further ado:

Yesterday I embarked on my 30 day challenge. As someone who spent many years playing football, I’m no stranger to having my ass kicked by some pretty intense workouts but it’s really been a while now and it’s time to get into gear. When I loaded the title, it informed me that yesterday was a Wii Balance board day and it asked me if I wanted to use the board – Batteries were dead so I opted out of it but will fix that tonight.
Upon entering in my daily diary, I was asked what kind of exercise I wanted to do and I went for the Intense workout thinking it’d be a decent level to start at hoping that I’d be well challenged but not destroyed by it. Was I ever wrong.
It started me out with some light walking then running on the spot and eventually got me to the ‘Inline Skating’ exercise my friends have talked about so much and DAMN! The Inline Skating exercise is essentially jump squats presented in a fun and challenging way and it will make you cry. Needless to say I got through my 1st workout in 30 minutes beaten but not out. I burned 330 calories and was projected to hit around 295 – I crushed the target but today my legs are paying for that Inline skating exercise
One thing to note is the resistance band is far too light for me so I’ve started using my own bands with a resistance levels of 25-80 lbs.
Tonight = Day 2

I’ve just had a baby in the last 5 weeks via C section and I’m not supposed to do anything too strenuous on my stomach until after I see my doctor next week so, together we put together a custom workout routine for me to do that doesn’t involve any jumping around or core exercises. When I get the All clear from the doctor, I’ll be doing more intense workouts.
I started with a run and moved onto cardio boxing and a variety of squats, lunges and other cardio exercises. I had some issues with a few exercises because of my positioning of the wii-mote and nunchuck but once I sorted all that out, I finished my workout happy with the results having beaten the projected calorie burn by about 15 cals. 142 vs 127 in 20 minutes.
Today I’ll be working on my 2nd workout when I get the opportunity.
